Coal River Valley, W. VA 2016

The health of the Coal River Valley region of West Virginia has been severely affected by mountaintop removal coal mining, coal slurry contamination, flooding, and the contamination of the Elk River due to a massive spill of 4-MCHM in January of 2014. This September 2016, the Herbal Medics will be responding to a request for help from communities in this region by sending a team to West Virginia. This team will be working with area residents and advocacy groups to create water purification solutions, as well as working with residents whose health has been affected by these toxic exposures. The work that the Herbal Medic team will be doing will help lay a foundation for the continued work that the communities in that area will be doing in order to restore the health of their water, their lands, and their people.

A project of this magnitude requires the support and the generosity of the community at large. We need your support to bring this project to fruition. To help us help the people of this region please visit our GoFundMe page.
